M. M. Studnicka Studnicka, 88, By Eileen Pech James G. Kostakis, 100, a 70- year Cicero resident, died Saturday in his home following a short illness. Mr.

Kostakis was a founding member of the Cicero Post, American Legion. Services were held yesterday in Cermak's Home for Funerals in Cicero followed by a Mass in St. Frances of Rome Church, also in Cicero. Interment followed in Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside. Mr.

Kostakis was born Aug. 15, 1892, in Ahladokambos, Greece. He came to the United States in 1906 with two older brothers, "sleeping almost any place that was provided for them," according to his son, Ervin Gutkowski Ervin "Ray" Gutkowski, 71, a 35-year resident of Cicero, died Saturday in MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn following a short illness. Services were held yesterday in Sourek Manor Funeral Home in Cicero, followed by a Mass in Our Lady of Charity Church, also in Cicero. Interment was in Resurrection Cemetery, Justice.

Mr. Gutkowski retired as a U.S. Postal Service clerk in the Forest Park Post Office. He was a member of the Cicero Post, Catholic War Veterans, and Cardinal Council, Knights of Columbus. Mr.

Gutowski was a World War II veteran. His hobbies included building model airplanes and repairing cars. Survivors include his wife, Helen; two sons, Raymond and Robert; three brothers, Leo, John and Chester; and one sister, Dolores Bresnahon. Edward A. Maruszak Edward A.

Maruszak, 79, of Brandon, and a former 20- year Berwyn resident, died Dec. 16 in Humana Hospital, Brandon. Services were held Monday in the Johnson Funeral Home, Brookfield, followed by interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Justice. Mr. Maruszak was a salesman for Sears, Roebuck and Co.

He was a 70- years year member of Local 110, Machine Operators Union. A World War I veteran, Mr. Kostakis was a service officer for Hines Veterans Administration Hospital. During World War II, he was a member of the Cicero Selective Service Board. A Chicago Cubs baseball fan, he enjoyed gardening and especially enjoyed growing marigolds.

In addition to his son, survivors include one granddaughter. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday in Svec and Sons Funeral Home, 6227 Cermak Road. His body will be donated to science.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of service. Mr. Studnicka was a butcher and sausage maker for the Crawford Sausage Co. in Chicago before retiring in 1971.

He was a member of Sokol Chicago and Chicagoland Chapter, United Food and Commercial Workers Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; one daughter, Dorothy Erickson; and one grandson. Geraldine M. Koziol Geraldine M. Koziol, 68, a 49- year Cicero resident, died Saturday in MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn following a long illness. Services will be held at 9 a.m.

Teply was a painter for Continental Bank, Chicago, before retiring. He was a member of the Chicago Painters union; Catholic Order of Foresters; and Holy Name societies of St. Pius and St. Adalbert churches, Chicago. Mr.

Teply enjoyed going out to dinner and carpentry and craft work. Interment will be private. Mr. Chandler was a truck driver for the P.G. Berland Paint Co. of McCook.

He formerly coached for the South Cicero Baseball Association and "loved" to teach sports to his children and others, family members said. They described him as "a sports fanatic" and "avid" Chicago Bulls fan. Survivors include his wife, Lillian; two sons, Robert and Brian; and one granddaughter.
